Strangely I preferred the non-noodle dishes more than their specialty of kalguksu noodle soup. The noodles were WAY overcooked. You would think they should get this right considering this is what they are famous for. The haemul pajeon, grilled bulgogi, pork dumplings, galbi-tang soup and donkatsu were better. I waited 35 minutes for a party of 6 table. The place was packed. The servers were pleasant and efficient.

🍜 Food
Been coming here occasionally, and their signature MD Kalguksu never disappoints. Though, it seems like their noodle recipe is a bit different than before... Not bad, just different. The broth is supurb though. We also ordered Kalbi there, perfect blend of sweet and savory. You might need to use your hands though! Sauce was amazing. We left full and satisfied. Kimchi side dish was extra galic-y and spicy.

👋 Service
Amazing service, our kimchi and tea were filled up often and our server checked up on us a lot despite the busy business. They speak both English and Korean there too 🙂

✨️ Atmosphere
This restaurant seems to be always busy. Great business and for good reason. Parking situation might be a challenge, but the restaurant owner guided us to our parking spot.

➕️ Extra
Looks like they will be opening another restaurant in New York, so we won't need to travel so far to enjoy the same great food!

Nice for weekend lunch if you don't mind the wait. It's good if you want the Fort Lee treatment and don't mind shelling out some $. Still the best MD Maemil Konguksu I've ever had.

Not only were the noodles mid and soggy and the beef over cooked, the waiters are super passive aggressive and rude. We were a party of 5 and only got 2 menus so naturally, it would take a while for us to order and they were so impatient. They sent one server at a time to hover over us and the last one came over and said 你好 very derogatorily to rush us even more to order.

Even throughout the meal, the waiters continued to hover around us to hurry especially when they wanted us to pay the bill. He continued to say little Mandarin words to us like 謝謝 even though we told him we don’t even speak Mandarin.

음식맛은 취향에 따라 호불호가 갈리겠지만, 미국에서 전통 한국음식을 맛볼수 있는곳은 결코 흔치 않은듯 합니다. 보리굴비 적극 추천합니다.

If you’re looking for authentic Korean comfort food with an amazing vibe, Myung Dong Noodle House in Fort Lee is a must-visit. Known for their kalguksu and hearty, health-focused meals, I opted for their Kimchi Soondubu Jjigae and Kalbi Tang, and both dishes were absolutely incredible.

The Kimchi Soondubu Jjigae is a bubbling bowl of spicy perfection, filled with silky tofu, tangy kimchi, tender pieces of pork, and a poached egg simmering in a rich, flavorful broth. It’s the perfect balance of spice, tang, and umami. The Kalbi Tang is just as comforting, featuring melt-in-your-mouth beef short ribs, daikon radish, glass noodles, and green onions in a clear, savory broth that feels nourishing and indulgent.

And the best surprise? Each stew comes with a side of marinated grilled pork that’s smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor—a generous and delicious addition that takes the meal to another level.

Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere is just as noteworthy. The restaurant has an authentic, cozy Korean vibe, and it’s clear this is the spot Koreans flock to for a meal that feels like home. It’s the perfect place to get your Korean food fix, surrounded by the comforting hum of conversation and the smell of sizzling, grilled meats.

The service is top notch as well warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Myung Dong Noodle House isn’t just a meal; it’s a full experience, and one that I’ll definitely be back for.
